Return to Granite Peak

Outside Bozeman, Summer 2025. This story works through two Granite Peak attempts 40 years apart. There are two versions of this story on my website: the published version and my version from last summer. These two versions have some minor differences: OB likes to foreshadow more than I prefer, but otherwise they are very much the same. Then there's the story of the trip I did with three other 20-somethings 40 years ago. It differs dramatically from either of the stories about last year's attempt: a lot changed in how I approached the peak in the past 40 years. No big surprise there, eh?
